Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ

The death of Jesus Christ was indisputable as everyone publicly witnessed His crucifixion and His burial, but the testimony of His resurrection was covered up and propagated as a lie.

“When the chief priests had met with the elders and devised a plan, they gave the soldiers a large sum of money, telling them, “You are to say, ‘His disciples came during the night and stole Him away while we were asleep.’ If this report gets to the governor, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” So the soldiers took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been widely circulated among the Jews to this very day” – (Matthew 28:12-15 AMP).

His Death, Burial and Resurrection is a mystery wherein God’s wisdom is hidden, so much that none of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory (1 Corinthians 2:7-8).

Our hope and eternal security lays in the testimony of the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is the foundation of our faith as Christians, hence, Paul declared, “I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified” – 1 Corinthians 2:2.

• His Death, Burial and Resurrection proved that He is the Son of God, The Messiah (Romans 1:3-4).
• By His Death He took all charges against us and destroyed them with His sacrifice – [He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross] – (Colossians 2:12-15).
• His Death, Burial and Resurrection gives us hope and eternal security (1 Corinthians 15:12-23).
• By His Death, Burial and Resurrection He broke the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil, and set us free from the fear of death, and bringing to us the life of immortality (Hebrews 2:14-15).

“Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son [Jesus Christ] also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could He die, and only by dying could He break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could He set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying” – Hebrews 2:14-15.

The spirit of immortality is released upon us by the Death, Burial and Resurrection of Jesus Christ; when we believe with our heart.

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” – Romans 10:9 NLT.
